There’s a certain kind of magic in seeing a product come to life—not just through layout or copy, but through movement. For motion designer Ali Nazari, that spark is everything. It’s what led him from the world of 3D and VFX into the nuanced, expressive realm of UI/UX and brand identity animation.

“Hey! I'm Ali Nazari, and I love creating animated UI/UX or branding elements. I helped numerous companies and studios bring their products to life with interactive motion design.”
That journey—from cinematic depth to interface detail—wasn’t a departure. Having created animations foe prominent companies such as Mobbin, Octopus AI, Scribe, and more, his motion journey became a progression. One that sharpened his eye for interaction, timing, and emotional design.
From teen obsession to design precision
Ali’s love for animation began early. As a teenager, he dove headfirst into the technical rabbit holes of 3D graphics and visual effects. But over time, what captured his attention wasn’t the spectacle—it was the storytelling hidden in small, purposeful movements.
“Been hooked on animation since my early teens… over time I drifted more into interactive motion design and brand identity vibes.”

Today, his work sits at the intersection of form and function. A hover that feels intentional. A micro-interaction that makes a product feel thoughtful. His animations don’t just decorate the UI—they define it.
"That’s how you make your product stand out — and get people to love it!"
Ali isn’t shy about what makes motion essential to design. In a world flooded with apps, brands, and websites, animation becomes the thing that gets remembered.
It’s not just about movement—it’s about meaning. About guiding attention, revealing identity, and creating the emotional hooks that static screens can’t deliver.

And tools like Lottie make that kind of polish more accessible than ever.
“LottieFiles helped me optimize my animations and keep everything running smoothly across platforms.”
For motion designers like Ali, the ability to export rich animations as lightweight, scalable JSON files—without compromising detail—is a game changer. It ensures consistency across devices, makes handoffs smoother, and lets interaction design live where it should—inside the product.
A creative process rooted in exploration
Ali doesn’t believe in jumping straight into software. His process starts before the screen—often on paper.

“Before jumping into After Effects, I spend a lot of time brainstorming and sketching — it helps me explore a bunch of ideas and lock in on the best one.”
From there, his style is shaped by constant immersion. Scrolling through social feeds, soaking in trends, noting interactions and layouts that spark curiosity. It’s not about copying—it’s about calibrating creative instinct.
“I do consume a lot of design and trends on social media every day.”
The result? A style that’s fluid, current, and always evolving—never stuck in one discipline.
"You don’t need to be an expert in just one area."
Ali believes great motion design is never created in a silo. His advice for aspiring designers?
“Learn a bit of graphic design, product design, UI/UX — it all adds up and takes your work to the next level.”

It’s not about mastering everything at once—it’s about staying open. The more you explore other corners of the design world, the more dimensional your work becomes.
On community, ownership & the future of motion
While Ali is a fan of what Lottie enables—especially in terms of performance and prototyping—he’s also thoughtful about where the platform is headed.
“I feel like there should be more space for creators who use Lottie to build their own products but aren’t looking to share their work in the Lottie community… I just hope Lottie doesn’t turn into another Freepik.”
There’s power, he believes, in giving creators room to experiment, innovate, and keep some of that work closer to the chest. Not everything needs to be shared to have impact.

But even with those reflections, he sees Lottie as an essential part of his process—something that gives him flexibility, speed, and the confidence to bring his ideas to life.
“Lottie helps me to optimize my animation as much as possible.”
