From sketchbooks in childhood to sleek digital interfaces today, Arnold’s journey as a motion designer has always been driven by one question: what if this moved?
Now based in Indonesia and working as a freelance motion designer and illustrator, Arnold brings over eight years of experience to the table with various prominent brand names. But more than that, he brings a passion for transformation—turning static visuals into interactive, expressive moments across apps, websites, and digital products.

“My journey as a visual storyteller began with a love for drawing as a child… I became fascinated by how motion could bring illustrations to life.”
That early curiosity never left. Instead, it evolved—first into 2D animation, then into Lottie, where he discovered a way to make storytelling lighter, more flexible, and more scalable than ever before.
"It’s amazing how movement can turn something flat into something full of life."
For Arnold, motion isn’t an afterthought—it’s the moment where a design truly becomes engaging.
He works at the intersection of illustration and interactivity, specializing in playful, character-driven animations that feel warm, human, and dynamic. From a blink of an eye to the bounce of a button, every detail adds personality to a user’s journey.

His style reflects the world around him: expressive faces, vibrant colour palettes, and the energy of street culture.
“I’m inspired by everyday life—people’s expressions, street culture, and bold, colorful visuals I see around me.”
It’s this connection to real life that makes his animations feel so alive—even without a single word.
Built with Lottie: light, scalable, and seamless
Like many modern motion designers, Arnold found a powerful ally in LottieFiles. The Lottie format—and the platform—allowed him to bring his animated illustrations to digital life, without sacrificing speed, quality, or cross-platform consistency.
“Lottie allows me to present animations interactively, just as they’re meant to be experienced—lightweight, smooth, and responsive. Having a dedicated platform (LottieFiles) where clients can instantly preview my animations has helped me gain more visibility, build trust, and attract better project opportunities.”

Instead of relying on heavy video exports or complicated handoffs, Lottie lets Arnold deliver crisp animations with small file sizes—ideal for mobile and web. For clients, it means fast previews and instant confidence. For developers, it means fewer headaches and cleaner integration.
“Using Lottie makes my workflow faster and more efficient. It allows me to create high-quality animations with small file sizes, perfect for web and mobile. Handoff to developers is seamless—no need for heavy exports or complex coding. It also gives me the freedom to be more creative, knowing the final result will stay true to my vision across platforms.”
"Focus on the story first, the motion second."
While his animations may look effortless, Arnold is intentional about every frame. The heart of his process lies not in flashy transitions, but in why something moves.
“Motion design isn’t just about making things move. It’s about why they move… Understanding timing, purpose, and emotion behind each animation makes all the difference.”

His workflow starts with rough sketches—just enough to explore shape and rhythm. From there, he refines the illustration, ensuring that each element has room to play once it enters motion. The result? Animations that feel intuitive, expressive, and unforced.
And when in doubt, he leans into simplicity.
“I’ve learned that simplicity often creates the strongest impact.”
Progress over perfection
Arnold’s advice to anyone entering motion design is both encouraging and practical: don’t wait to be ready.
“Keep creating, keep experimenting. Don’t wait for perfection, because progress comes from practice.”

Every loop, every bounce, every swipe animation you create adds to your toolkit. What matters most isn’t getting it right the first time—it’s learning to trust your process and your story.
