Circular orbit – speed of satellite – depends on mass of planet A telecommunications company want to put a satellite into orbit to help improve their service, but before they launch it they want to know what speed it will be orbiting at. They know the distance out that the satellite will be orbiting at, and they know the value of the universal gravitational constant, but they need to know another value before they can calculate the speed the satellite will be travelling at. What other value is needed?
