Reflection – plane mirror – angles of incidences and reflection - Explanation

Reflection – plane mirror – angles of incidences and reflection For a plane mirror, the angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence. When light ray shines onto a plane mirror, the angle it makes with the normal (a line drawn perpendicular to the mirror at the point the light hits hit) is known as the **angle of incidence**. This ray will then reflect back off the mirror, and the angle this reflected ray makes with the normal is known as the **angle of reflection**. For regular reflection the angle of incidence is always equal to the angle of incidence.
